My favorite medium is acrylic paint. When I paint, I vividly remember all the emotions and senses that I experienced while painting. It's like looking at a photo that jogs your memories of that exact moment, but in extreme details due the fact that producing a painting takes much longer than snapping a photo.
Because of this, I used painting to keep a journal instead of writing things down. During my study abroad semester, I knew I wanted to keep a visual journal, but I did not have the luxury of packing a whole set acrylic, so I decided to try watercolor. I packed with me a mini pocket-sized watercolor set and painted whenever I had 10-30 minutes along the way. Despite the steep learning curve going from acrylic to watercolor, and limited time to paint, I still love this medium.
I am so happy I found this journal, even after 13 years, all the memories are flooding back to me.
